Devotional Context
Yoga Nidra is described in the Mandukya Upanishad as the state of turiya — the fourth state of consciousness beyond waking, dreaming, and deep sleep. It is said that 30 minutes of Yoga Nidra is equivalent to 2–3 hours of ordinary sleep.
