Krishna is the eighth avatar of Vishnu and one of the most beloved deities in Hinduism. He is the speaker of the Bhagavad Gita, the divine teacher, the playful child (Bal Krishna), and the ideal lover (Radha-Krishna). Worshipped on Thursdays and especially on Janmashtami.

Simple Home Puja Guide
Bathe and wear yellow or blue clothes on Thursdays.
Set up a picture or murti of Krishna — Bal Krishna, Radha-Krishna, or Giridhari.
Offer tulsi leaves (sacred basil) — especially dear to Krishna.
Offer yellow flowers, marigolds, and yellow sweets (peda, ladoo).
Light a ghee diya and incense.
Recite the Bhagavad Gita — even one shloka (verse) daily is considered auspicious.
Chant 'Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya' 108 times.
Sing or listen to bhajans — Hare Krishna Maha Mantra is widely recited.
Perform aarti with the Aarti Kunj Bihari Ki.
Observe Ekadashi fasting (bi-monthly) as a devotee of Vishnu-Krishna.
