Mata Durga is the supreme goddess of power, courage, and protection. She is worshipped every Friday and especially during Navratri. As the divine mother, she embodies shakti — the primordial feminine energy that sustains the universe.

Simple Home Puja Guide
Bathe and wear red or orange clothes on Fridays.
Set up a picture or murti of Mata Durga or your family's chosen form of Mata.
Light a diya with ghee.
Offer red flowers, red chunri (cloth), sindoor, and bangles.
Offer prasad — halwa, puri, and chana (especially on Ashtami).
Recite Durga Chalisa or Devi Mahatmyam (Durga Saptashati) — even one chapter is auspicious.
Chant 'Om Dum Durgayei Namah' 108 times.
Light incense and perform aarti with the Jai Ambe Gauri aarti.
Observe a fast (vrat) on Fridays — eating only fruits and milk.
During Navratri, light an Akhand Jyoti (continuous lamp) if possible.
